Last week, amidst the atmospheric river that pummeled California, my friend Maggie at Alta Colina dropped what might be one of the best and most hilarious educational posts I’ve seen in a long time.

The video features Maggie standing in the pouring rain at the top of a vineyard block, wind whipping around her like she’s a storm reporter for The Weather Channel. She’s shouting (because the wind leaves her no choice) about how the elements at that exposed site influence the grapes grown there. Then, it cuts to her standing at the bottom of another vineyard block—sheltered, calm, much quieter—explaining how this vastly different microclimate affects the Syrah they grow there.

It’s educational. It’s engaging. It’s entertaining. Literally, everything you need to make the perfect social media post. And it’s about terroir of all things!
